― WHAT IS “ENGRAM ORGANIZER”? ―

― “ENGRAM ORGANIZER(イングラム・オーガナイザー)”って何? ―
【ENGRAM】=(1)short for English Grammar (2)means by which memories are stored within the brain in response to external stimuli 【ORGANIZER】=(1)a person or systematic means to organize something (2)a mechanical device or a pocketbook by which to manage schedule or collect ideas
(♪) I know I may arouse anger among some Japanese, but I’ll be blunt and bold in pointing this out ― the former group we find gloriously admirable by virtue of time-honored methods strictly followed with clockwork precision, while the latter leaves too much to be desired for us to admire by lack of any such established method and still blindly following the same beaten path too feeble to get anywhere, just like an old record with a faulty groove repeating the same noise at the same place like insane parrots.
(♪) Football and TV are the realms dynamic chemical reaction between exceptional individuals give birth to moments too glorious to forget, where “comply with the collective!” mentality of the group-oriented Japanese finds no glory; left to themselves, most Japanese simply don’t know what to do; they instinctively want orders they should meticulously obey, in the absence of which they blindly follow disorder in the guise of order, resulting in sheer chaos. Such is the status quo of Japanese TV, football (on the stage of World Cup) ― and English studies. Finding their way out should be left to individual talents and efforts in the world of Japanese TV and football ― there can be (or SHOULD be) no magic formula to lead them to easy glory; when it comes to English, however, there can be (and MUST be) a meticulous method established for the diligent Japanese to follow to achieve easy mastery ― that method is ENGRAM ORGANIZER established by this author, Jaugo Noto, through more than three decades of meticulous preparation.
(♪) Most English-incapable Japanese will (undoubtedly) wonder, “For whom is this ENGRAM ORGANIZER meant?… Junior-high-school level? High-shcool level? College entrance examination level? Is it TOEFL and TOEIC applicable?” to which I will answer, “There is no such thing as TOEFL/TOEIC English, college-entrance-exam English, high-school English or junior-high or elementary-school English. There is only ONE ENGLISH, composed of multiple aspects, the grammatical aspect of which is comprehensively and systematically covered by ENGRAM ORGANIZER, which will benefit all serious learners of English, whether their desired goal be success in entrance exams or fluent conversation with foreign people.” The typical Japanese fallacy regarding English studies is the unrealistic disjunction of certain types of English (such as JUKEN-EIGO, TOEFL-EIGO, or IKITA-EIGO !lol!) from others, which is forced upon their mentality by the expediency of Japanese schools, teachers or English-related books… Just ask yourselves what good have they done in advancing your English literacy? If you really want to master English, say good-bye to all such imagined distinction between this English and that. There is only one English; but there are several separate ways needed to conquer the whole realm of English… all of which, this author, Jaugo Noto, will provide you with in time.
(♪) Understanding written English is one thing, comprehending it spoken is another, writing and speaking it with freedom, yet another. That said, this much I will tell you ― no magic wand to change you into a great English conversationist will you find here (not HERE AND NOW, I mean; ELSEWHERE LATER, one by one, you will find it offered by this same author, I promise); it takes four(4) ingredients to realize such linguistic magic ― perfect grammatical knowledge, well-organized stock of words and idioms, and much practice in having such rich intellectual fragments verbally reconstructed appropriate to the situation flowing out of your mouth before others as opposed to mentally recollected within your head alone.
(♪) Much practice in rich oral recitals of English words and idioms, you have to wait (I’ll be paving the way with gold for you later); in the mean time, you have to fortify your mental frame with perfect grammatical knowledge of English. No amount of words or idioms will bear any fruit on the barren ground devoid of mental minerals springing out of systematically stored knowledge of grammar and syntax. Before trying to enrich the surface with words and idioms, let’s make rich and certain the ground underneath. This lecture ― a series of three lectures to be precise ― offers you such ground-service: it’s the ground-maker, groundskeeper and certainly a ground-shaker in the traditionally sterile wasteland of Japanese English-related business.

(♪) Taken aback at the amount of knowledge you are bound to meet in lectures? The greater the volume, the harder it is to take in the contents, you fear? Not to worry: the greatest merit of this ENGRAM ORGANIZER lies not in its rich contents but in its capability of enabling you to PERFECTLY MEMORIZE them all!
(♪) Knowledge alone accumulated without being cemented with repetitive drills to assimilate it seems like a barren idea, especially so to the Japanese psyche to which practice and endurance far outweighs theory and intelligence. Since 1978, in fact, systematic teaching of English grammar has long been abandoned (!wrongly!) in Japanese schools, with the authoritative permission and persuasion of the then Ministry of Education of Japan to shift weight from just understanding to actively using English, giving way to floods of reading, speaking and listening to English to make students FEEL what and how they do in the English-speaking world, without letting them THINK why they do so. Such practice without theory has been quite effective in mass-producing English-illiterate Japanese trying desperately to imitate the way others do without intellectually pondering what it is they are trying to do… the disastrous result of which is so painfully plain to see everywhere on this oriental island so barren in language, intellect, economy, politics and human relations ever since the miserable collapse of their unexpected glory (economic, not linguistic) in the early 1990’s… Isn’t it about time we said good-bye to such bad times passed ever so brainlessly?
(♪) Knowledge without drills is not so bad an idea as you may suppose, certainly never so bad as drills without knowledge. No end of drills in the floods of English sentences related to but different from each other will only result in increasing the burden and boredom of learners so much that they will grow reluctant or averse to learning any more, long before such repetitive raindrops drill small holes here and there in the bedrock of English grammar. This author says “NO!” to such raindrop-drilling approach; instead, he offers you the comprehensive list of “things to remember” in the form of unique (meaning “the only one of the kind”) example sentences, systematically organized and thoroughly explained for learners to memorize one by one by pondering and reciting the same sentence over and over and over again. This way, the burden you have to carry is drastically decreased: you just have to memorize the same (one, not many) English sentence for every grammatical theme ― when you try to recollect what it was that you were trying to master, you have only to recite the same (ONE not MANY) example sentence, with the related information in the textbook naturally coming back to your memory. ONE sentence for EACH knowledge, drill with that same sentence, not with too many ― not too bad an idea, isn’t it? ― especially when the number of such “unique” example sentences is substantially vast.
(♪) You have only to browse through the INDEX page of BEG(Basic English Grammar) to FEEL how many practicing materials you will encounter in the form of example sentences… to give you a vague hint of what awaits you in the lectures, there are about 3,300 MP3 voice-over files for BEG lecture alone ― triple the number (some 10,000 VO files, in case you are not too good at calculating) to have a glimpse of what you can verbally fortify yourself with when you have completed BEG, ESSE and ESSA lectures. In case you find 10,000 too small, there will come (later) English VOCABULARY and IDIOM lectures with far more example sentences (AFTER you have completed your GRAMMATICAL lecture, I remind you), all of which will be more than enough to make you a truly proficient and intelligent reader, writer and speaker of English.
